SSBI Head Data Infrastructure & Initiatives, Vice President

“SSBI Head Data Infrastructure & Initiatives” is a role that reports to the SSBI Chief Data Officer. The role is responsible for collaborating with business and IT leaders, and other stakeholders to establish data governance and data architecture best practices and ensure initiatives are aligned with business goals and regulatory compliance:
- Provide operational BCBS 239 expertise to support stakeholders in business and IT driven projects to ensure BCBS 239 aspects are integrated and implemented solutions are compliant with BCBS 239 regulatory expectations (e.g., data traceability, report production process automation and data manipulation auditability).
- Deliver data infrastructure-related programs in SSBI.
Responsibilities:
- Provide guidance to business and technical teams to support adoption of data governance standards leveraging enterprise data governance tools and best practices.
- Supports business unit adoption of enterprise data governance policy, standards, leveraging enterprise data governance tools (e.g., Data Catalog)
- Collaborate with the data architecture function to ensure up to date data architecture diagrams and artifacts are available to support RDAR governance.
- Coordinate with the data architecture function on data architecture and data lineage documentation, including standards and templates.
- Project Planning: Develop and execute comprehensive project plans for BCBS 239 data infrastructure compliance initiatives, considering architectural, strategic, and requirement aspects.
- Requirements Gathering: Funnel the gathering BCBS239 compliance requirements requiring IT implementation effort, working closely with business stakeholders, subject matter experts and enterprise program leads.
- Project management: Monitor and report on progress identify risks and dependencies, and implement mitigating strategies to keep the programs on track.
- Stakeholder Communication: Maintain effective communication with project stakeholders, providing regular updates on project progress, issues, and milestones.
- Regulatory Reporting: Ensure that BCBS 239 compliance activities are accurately reported to regulatory authorities and internal audit teams.
- Create OKRs and other key measures quantifying level of compliance, indicating gaps, risk/issues and focus areas.
- Connect across all business areas to understand impact of programs on SSBI data and ensure data principles are maintained.
- Ensure BCBS239 data infrastructure projects are strategically aligned with the enterprise and SSBI’s goals and regulatory compliance objectives.
- Stay up to date with regulatory changes that impact RDAR data management framework and data governance.
- Actively engage with CDO colleagues, business units and corporate functions to review data related regulatory obligations and define assurance/controls frameworks enabling oversight of compliance with relevant regulations.
- Build and maintain cross-functional relationships with various stakeholders to ensure their support and collaboration
- Promote good data governance practices within the organization.
- Member of the Data Management Office, you are part of the team that actively contributes to harness the strategic data opportunities, transforming the company to realign the data into one of the critical business assets.

Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Business, Information Technology, Finance).
- Several years of experience in the financial industry, preferably in capital markets or financial markets infrastructure.
- Deep understanding of regulations that have data touchpoints like BCBC239, NYDFS AML, GDPR, CCPA, etc.
- Proven experience in BCBS239 compliance financial institution, documenting data traceability, defining and implementing data quality standards process automation solutions.
- Familiar with automated data quality management (e.g., using ETL, aggregated dashboards, or specialized data quality tools), documentation of Data Sharing Agreements, Data Traceability for Business Intelligence and Datawarehouse Re-engineering is a plus.
- You are able to work with people from different areas (Business and IT) through strong interpersonal skills (active listening, empathy, influencing) and to steer working groups. You are a team-player with people focus and able to work with various colleagues across the organization.
- Conceptual and creative: you are able to recognize common patterns or generic aspects in elements that seem unrelated at first sight; you are able to see dependencies/synergies with other data-oriented subjects and initiatives.
- Strong problem solver: you demonstrate strong analytical skills (e.g. breaking up & structuring complex problems into manageable pieces).
- You have a passion for data and its added value and you have the strong desire to transform the culture into a data culture.
- You have proven Project Management experience.
- Critical thinking and analytical abilities.
- Excellent communication skills and influencing capabilities.
- Experience in presenting to senior leaderships.
