Who we are looking for
Compliance supports the Executive Management Board (EMB) of State Street Bank International GmbH (SSBI) and SSBI employees in their responsibility to comply with laws and regulations applicable to the Bank’s business activities, products/services and functions. We are looking for an IT and Data Governance Compliance Specialist m/f/d Vice President, to join the Compliance team in Germany. This role will oversee the development and implementation of Compliance programs, ensuring that IT and Data Governance practices align with industry regulations and organizational objectives. The role will act as a primary liaison with regulators for ICT and Data Governance topics, providing regulatory advice to SSBI Management and other relevant staff across impacted functions on regulatory risks associated particularly with IT and Data Governance.
This role can be performed in a hybrid model to balance your needs and work requirements in Frankfurt or Munich.

What you will be responsible for
Support and advise on the development of the organization's regulatory governance strategy in relation to information and communication technology (ICT) and data management, and collaborate with senior leadership to embed IT compliance and data governance into corporate strategies, fostering an enterprise-wide commitment to regulatory excellence.
Contribute to the implementation of a robust regulatory framework to ensure that ICT and data governance infrastructure are compliant with relevant rules and regulations.
Provide day-to-day advisory support to SSBI Management and other relevant staff on regulatory requirements in relation to IT risks, digital resilience, data management and emerging Compliance issues within the data governance landscape.
Support the business to ensure compliance with DORA, BCBS 239, and other emerging regulatory standards.
Lead Compliance risk assessments as well as monitoring and testing of regulatory compliance in relations ICT and data governance.
Work closely with IT, Data Governance and Security functions in the alignment of the organisation’s processes with regulators’ requirements and expectations particularly in respect of data lineage, data classification, and access management and control.
Develop and deliver Compliance training programs in relation to ICT and data governance rules and regulations so as to keep employees at all levels informed of applicable regulatory standards.
Advise and support the development of key metrics and reporting frameworks to measure the effectiveness of IT and data management regulatory compliance, providing visibility to executive leadership.
Regularly report on the status of Compliance initiatives, material regulatory risks, and improvement efforts to the management body and governance committees.
Drive a continuous improvement approach to IT and data management compliance by staying up-to-date on industry trends, regulatory updates and best practices, and advising/supporting relevant stakeholders to ensure effective implementation of applicable regulatory requirements and standards into the organization's processes.

A solid background in Compliance, Audit and/or Business Control function(s) with expertise in ICT and Data Governance regulation, compliance risk management and monitoring/testing within the financial services.
Strong critical thinking, interpersonal and presentation skills.

High degree of initiative and proven ability to work independently and adapt quickly in handling multiple / evolving tasks as a result of new projects and/or re-prioritized deadlines.
Strong organizational and time management skills, understanding competing priorities, finding opportunities for efficiency in regulatory change process.
Education & Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Law, Business, or a related field.
Minimum of 6-8 years of experience in IT compliance, Data Governance, IT audit and risk management, with a strong focus on regulatory frameworks (e.g., DORA, BCBS 239).
Proven track record of leading IT compliance and Data Governance functions, including experience in engaging with regulators and managing regulatory relationships.
Deep knowledge of ICT risk management, digital resilience frameworks, and data protection practices.
