Hex was founded by Richard Heart, with the goal of starting a project that resembles a certificate of deposit in the banking system. The project is currently being worked on by team members Cody Lamson, Brent Morrissey, and Dan Emmons. It is scheduled to launch in 2019. It changed its name from BitcoinHex in early 2019.
