Ferrero US is looking to fill the full-time position of Data Engineer reporting professionally to the central Data & AI team and managerially to the NAM BI&A Leader. This position covers North American markets (US, PR, CA) and categories in which Ferrero operates.
The Data Engineer, which is an emerging role in Ferrero, will play a pivotal role in operationalizing the most critical data and AI initiatives for Ferrero’s digital and business transformation objectives. The bulk of the Data Engineer’s work will be in creating new AI data agents and data pipelines for Media and Digital campaigns, eCommerce, Retail Customers, Shoppers, and other third-party data sets data important for the NAM business.
Additional support managing existing AI data agents and pipelines on our data lake will also be expected. The Data Engineer will be measured on their ability to effectively build, optimize and manage multiple AI data agents and pipelines with little supervision.
Data Engineers collaborate with Data Analysts, domain experts, and Data Scientists to develop trusted data sets for analytics and reporting.
Build new AI data agents and data pipelines:
- The Group is implementing new platforms to collect marketing campaigns, global syndicated, eCommerce and Open Innovation R&D data and the Data Engineer will be part of those project teams to understand the full collection cycle. They will then take over responsibility - together with IT partners - to build and manage AI data agents to query data or pipelines to bring the data into Ferrero IT architecture for modelling and reporting. An important part of any new AI data agents or data pipeline will be to automate data quality and business logic implementation and verification. Alignment with AI strategy and architecture, Group master data and/or domain data governance will also be required, where relevant.
Manage existing AI data agents, pipelines and databases:
- Working in Group tools to manage existing AI data agents, pipelines and databases on retail panel (“sellout”) and consumer surveys. Perform data extractions and / or visualizations as needed by stakeholders.
Support data governance initiatives:
- The Data Engineer will be responsible for supporting projects related to the standardization of data.
Education & Experience:
- Master’s degree in computer science, Data Management, Information Systems, Information Science or a related quantitative field.
- Two to five years of work experience with data engineering responsibilities and tasks.
- Experience working in cross-functional teams and with business stakeholders; strong communication and collaboration skills.
IT Skills:
- Strong experience with ETL tools (Microsoft Fabric, Fabric Data Engineering, Databricks, Analysis Services,); SQL database design / architecture / management; and data cataglog technology (Purview). Relevant certifications will constitute a preferential parameter for selection.
- Experience with common AI agents development frameworks and tools (Fabric Data Agents, AI Foundry, Copilot Studio, MCP protocol). Relevant certifications will constitute a preferential parameter for selection.
- Experience with databases and data lake design principles and programming languages including [SQL, PL/SQL, others] for relational databases is required. Knowledge of Python would be a plus.
- Experience with PowerBI for data visualization.
- Familiarity with big data technologies (Spark, Hadoop, etc), cloud computing platforms (MS Azure) and DevOps.
- Understanding data security and compliance.
Personal:
- Energy, good judgment, proactivity, a sense of urgency and demonstrated commitment to high standards of ethics, regulatory compliance, service and business integrity.
- Curiosity, problem solving and genuine interest in data, technology and the FMCG industry;
- Fluent in English.
- Other languages and international experience a plus.
The base salary range for this position is $118,000 - $150,000 annually. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This range represents the anticipated salary for this position at this time.
