Data Engineer, Studio Data Operations
Amazon
Description
Amazon Studios Data Operations connects the dots across fragmented data and workflows to enable reliable, actionable insights. Sitting within Studio Strategy & Operations, our team builds the connective tissue that powers continuity and transparency across Production, Post, Marketing, and Finance.
We’re seeking a Data Engineer II who’s passionate about turning scattered operational data into structured, meaningful intelligence. You’ll work directly with Studio teams and our customers to model workflows, normalize metadata, and build mechanisms that improve visibility, trust, and decision-making.
This role is ideal for engineers who thrive in ambiguous, high-impact environments where problem-solving and collaboration are as important as code.
Key job responsibilities
• Translate complex, manual workflows into well-defined, governed datasets and repeatable processes.
• Design and implement SQL- and logic-based transformations that standardize and connect data across systems like Airtable, DataCore, and Continuum.
• Partner directly with business customers to understand pain points and design solutions that deliver operational insights.
• Build mechanisms for data validation, lineage tracking, and workflow health monitoring.
• Collaborate with BI engineers to define source-of-truth tables and support downstream analytics.
• Document data flows, transformations, and schema definitions to ensure transparency and reuse.
• Support automation initiatives to reduce manual reconciliation and reporting.
