About this role:

We are looking for an experienced sales professional to join our busy Business Development Team, based in either UK, USA or Sweden.

This role shall drive the growth of the Data and Services business line, securing new data sales that utilise the Group’s ongoing investments in its own satellite constellations. This will achieved be through a combination of direct sales and establishing a network of channel sale agreements.

You will be enthusiastic, great with customers in delivering excellent quality proposals and service, and promote our Data and Services business line.

This opportunity is ideal for someone keen to learn and gain industry experience, with an interest in earth observation . You will be willing to learn and have the desire to grow your knowledge and gain experience. You will not be afraid of challenges and happy to get involved!

The role involves occasional business travel on occasion to meet with customers, partners and participate at relevant events.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with technical teams across the Group to establish clear value propositions, target markets and routes to market.
  • Develop and maintain a pipeline of data sales opportunities, working with the marketing team to promote data services to target markets.
  • Develop business relationships with suitable partners that can act as channels for distribution of data to relevant markets.
  • Collaborate with senior managers and commercial team colleagues to ensure that suitable terms are in place for customer and channel sale agreements.
  • Preparing customer proposals including technical, financial and programmatic elements.
  • Provide market intelligence feedback to inform product development plans and future investment strategy. Attendance and participation in key events and conferences for target markets.
  • Manage relationships with key stakeholders and their expectations to ensure their continued support

Skills required:

  • Relevant degree or equivalent work experience
  • Experience of satellite data and its application, especially in geospatial contexts
  • Experience of business development and completing sales
  • Demonstrates ability to create and maintain relationships with customers and partners
  • Understanding of the satellite data value chain
  • Ability to understand technical concepts to sufficient detail to prepare proposals
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management and interpersonal skills
  • Can prepare professional reports and presentations for both internal and external purposes
  • Can professionally negotiate, engage and collaborate with customers
  • Ability to work independently as well as effectively collaborate within a multicultural team
  • Ability to make good decisions under highly demanding, dynamic environment
  • Ability to organise self and prioritise workload with multiple projects in dynamic environment with tight deadlines
  • Competent IT skills including Microsoft software and Office365
  • Proficient in English, both verbally and written

Skills desired:

  • Experience in working with the space industry, or other tightly regulated industries e.g. defence, aerospace, medical, etc
  • Previous experience working with small/medium sized companies
